Senior Capture Executive

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +7 more states.

📋 Description

• Oversee the performance and delivery of capture initiatives within a designated region and market/practice.

• Supervise, mentor, and develop the assigned Capture Managers and/or Capture Executives.

• Allocate and balance capture workloads according to pursuit priority, complexity, timing, and team capacity.

• Establish expectations for capture quality, execution, documentation, and reporting; review work and address any performance or delivery gaps.

• Direct capture planning and execution for the company's most intricate, high-value, high-risk, or strategically significant pursuits.

• Provide guidance to senior leaders regarding opportunity qualification, pursuit investment, positioning, teaming, resources, and risk management.

• Evaluate and challenge capture plans, competitive strategies, value propositions, differentiators, win themes, and decision materials.

• Facilitate high-level strategy sessions, portfolio reviews, and qualification or go/no-go discussions.

• Address cross-functional barriers and escalate significant risks, resource requirements, or decisions as necessary.

• Track portfolio progress, capture milestones, and team capacity; adjust priorities and provide support as needed.

• Ensure assigned teams keep capture plans current as new information arises.

• Verify that assigned CRM fields, opportunity data, and necessary reports are updated based on insights gained from research, meetings, and pursuit activities.

• Manage the transition from capture to proposal and reinforce lessons learned throughout the process.

• Enhance capture methods, tools, standards, and consistency across the organization.

• Directly supervise Capture Managers and/or Capture Executives, including task assignment, expectation setting, coaching, performance reviews, addressing performance issues, and supporting staffing and resource decisions.

• Lead capture performance, staff, and priority pursuits for Michael Baker International, a provider of engineering and consulting services for infrastructure challenges.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or a combination of education and relevant experience equivalent to this level.

• A minimum of 5 years' experience in capture, business development, multi-team proposal management, sales, account planning, or a related field is preferred.

• At least three years of direct, full-time team supervision experience.

• Proven success in leading complex, high-value, high-risk, or strategically important pursuits.

• Experience in managing, coaching, and developing professional staff effectively.

• Capability to oversee a portfolio of pursuits, prioritize tasks, and allocate resources based on business needs.

• Ability to advise senior leaders and make informed recommendations based on incomplete or evolving information.

• Skill in reviewing and enhancing capture strategies, challenging assumptions, and holding teams accountable for execution.

• Strong leadership, strategic thinking, facilitation, communication, organization, and follow-through abilities.

• Competence in resolving cross-functional barriers and coordinating work across regions, markets/practices, and functions.

• Proficient with CRM systems and standard business and collaboration tools.

• Candidates must reside on the East Coast.
