This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +2 more states.
• Transform design ideas and meshes into precise, fabrication-ready 3D solid models.
• Produce accurate 2D and 3D CAD drawings, including plans, elevations, control drawings, assembly drawings, and setup drawings.
• Develop components intended for CNC production, fabrication, assembly, and installation.
• Supply information regarding materials, finishes, hardware, dimensions, tolerances, electrical requirements, and part numbers.
• Create setup drawings for intricate show-floor environments, which involve hanging structures, lighting, electrical, networking, AV, flooring, staging, and component placement.
• Collaborate with Designers to ensure that concepts are functional, realistic, manufacturable, and cost-effective.
• Partner with Estimators to establish detailing hours and pinpoint efficient fabrication solutions.
• Work alongside Project Management to deliver custom exhibits punctually and within budget.
• Coordinate with Fabrication teams to ensure seamless transitions and efficient production processes.
• Assist Service teams with drawings needed for preparation, staging, and shipping.
• Provide the Graphics team with precise elevations and graphic opportunities.
• Coordinate with external vendors to guarantee that products and services align with project requirements and company standards.
• Construct and maintain digital libraries of parts, layouts, and frequently used products.
• Apply knowledge of ADA specifications, building codes, show-floor regulations, and fabrication standards.
• Review models and drawings created by team members, offering technical guidance.
• Enhance drafting standards, processes, libraries, and workflows.
• Act as the technical lead on challenging projects.
• Mentor team members, share knowledge, review work, and provide fabrication support.
• Assist the Detailing Manager with project assignments, scheduling, forecasting, and onboarding as necessary.
• 7–9+ years of CAD detailing experience, preferably within the exhibit industry, architectural fabrication, or a related field.
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD 2D and 3D.
• Expert understanding of drafting, dimensioning, tolerancing, solid modeling, and manufacturing processes.
• Strong grasp of production materials and fabrication techniques.
• Experience in translating designs into practical fabrication solutions.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Acrobat.
• Excellent communication and collaboration capabilities.
• Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail.
• Outstanding organizational and time-management abilities.
• Capability to manage multiple projects and meet competing deadlines.
• Willingness to work overtime when project demands necessitate it.
• Bachelor's degree preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• CNC programming experience is highly advantageous.
• Prior experience in mentoring, leading, or supervising others is preferred.
