This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +2 more states.
• Transform innovative design ideas into practical, feasible, and cost-efficient fabrication solutions.
• Produce detailed 2D and 3D CAD models, including plans, elevations, control drawings, assembly drawings, and setup drawings.
• Generate 3D solid models prepared for real-world manufacturing.
• Detail components for CNC cutting, fabrication, assembly, transport, and installation.
• Develop drawings that specify materials, finishes, hardware, dimensions, tolerances, part numbers, and electrical requirements.
• Create setup drawings for installation teams working on the show floor.
• Detail solutions that involve hanging structures, lighting, electrical, networking, AV, flooring, staging, and component positioning.
• Collaborate with Designers to ensure that creative concepts remain functional and feasible for manufacturing.
• Work closely with Project Management to address technical challenges and ensure project progress.
• Partner with Fabrication to confirm that CAD outputs are compatible with shop requirements.
• Assist Service teams by providing preparation, staging, shipping, and installation drawings.
• Supply Graphics with precise elevations and opportunities for graphic placement.
• Coordinate with external vendors to ensure alignment with project vision and company standards.
• Create and manage libraries of parts, layouts, and commonly used products.
• Implement ADA requirements, building codes, show-floor regulations, and fabrication standards.
• Enhance detailing processes, standards, and workflows.
• 2–5 years of detailing experience, preferably in the exhibit industry, architectural fabrication, or a related area.
• Bachelor’s degree is preferred, or equivalent education and experience.
• Proficient in AutoCAD 2D & 3D.
• Knowledge of millwork, metal fabrication, and fundamental engineering concepts.
• Strong understanding of drafting, dimensioning, tolerancing, and manufacturing procedures.
• Familiarity with production materials and their effective usage.
• CNC programming experience is advantageous.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Acrobat.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Exceptional attention to detail.
• Creative, analytical, and practical problem-solving capabilities.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Capability to manage multiple projects while maintaining focus on details.
• Willingness to learn, adapt, and pursue continuous improvement.
• Confidence to ask questions, challenge assumptions, and propose improved construction methods.
