Senior Buyer – Indirect Procurement

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.

📋 Description

• Procure parts and components to support manufacturing and various business functions by placing purchase orders.

• Develop and maintain collaborative relationships across departments, effectively communicating timelines and activities that impact the supply chain.

• Collaborate with manufacturing teams by comprehending build schedules and managing supply chain operations to enhance efficiency and reduce downtime.

• Ensure the precise and timely delivery of parts and components; follow up with suppliers regarding purchase orders and manage delivery expectations.

• Understand material specifications and quality metrics; work with suppliers to address and resolve quality concerns.

• Cultivate supplier relationships and oversee date adjustments for pull-ins and push-outs.

• Mentor and guide purchasing team members, directing the activities of Buyers.

• Support the training of new team members, serving as an advisor and resource.

• Negotiate advantageous supplier terms that influence pricing, quality, and payment conditions.

• Monitor supplier performance, provide constructive feedback, set expectations, and make decisions on adding or replacing suppliers as necessary.

• Collaborate with the Finance department to address supplier payment challenges.

• Represent Plug Power in a professional manner.

• Perform additional assigned responsibilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field, along with five (5) or more years of relevant work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Experience in a technology manufacturing environment is strongly preferred.

• Capability to work independently in a dynamic environment with minimal supervision.

• Proven analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.

• Excellent communication abilities.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, with advanced Excel skills.

• Ability to manage projects effectively and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Exempt employees are required to work as many hours as necessary to fulfill their responsibilities, which may exceed eight hours per day and five days or 40 hours per week.
