Senior Business Systems Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +44 more states.

📋 Description

• Assist with the analytical components of the application product life cycle and capability enablement within a specific product scope.

• Work closely with customers to address complex issues and comprehend their capability requirements.

• Collect project specifications and develop business cases along with cost analysis sheets.

• Convert high-level business requirements into detailed specifications for new capabilities and enhancements.

• Evaluate data to uncover business challenges, trends, and opportunities for process improvements.

• Design and implement test cases.

• Conduct root cause analyses and formulate corrective action plans.

• Ensure the fulfillment of customer requirements and guarantee quality delivery.

• Identify, document, and resolve risks, defects, and issues as they arise.

• Analyze market trends to gain competitive insights and formulate business value statements.

• Provide mentorship to Associate and Intermediate Business Systems Analysts.

• Lead project teams or act as a subject matter expert on moderately complex, cross-functional projects.

• Serve as the customer-facing representative, resolving complex, potentially multi-system issues.

• Manage Planview Portfolios, including users, groups, roles, security, access, screens, menus, objects, attributes, reference tables, organizational structures, financial structures, resources, and portfolio hierarchies.

• Configure and support workflows, lifecycle management, scripted dialogs, automation, approvals, governance checkpoints, and demand/project intake processes.

• Develop and sustain Planview reports, executive dashboards, operational dashboards, governance dashboards, and reports on portfolio health, resource utilization, financial management, and data quality.

• Assist with data governance, platform cleanup, configuration standards, reference data, taxonomy, audit reviews, and compliance reporting.

• Support Planview Enterprise Architecture, AgilePlace, and ProjectPlace environments.

• Facilitate Planview integrations and troubleshoot issues related to data mappings, APIs, synchronization, monitoring, and errors.

• Oversee development, test, and production environments, configuration migrations, release planning, regression testing, quarterly release assessments, impact evaluations, promotion governance, and release documentation.

• Engage in governance boards, Change Advisory Boards, enhancement intake, prioritization, roadmaps, standards, and operational reviews.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field.

• 5–7 years of experience in IS/IT.

• Proven experience in administering Planview Portfolios.

• Familiarity with configuring lifecycle management, scripted dialogs, conditional logic, automated notifications, approval workflows, stage-gate processes, demand management workflows, and project intake processes.

• In-depth understanding of demand intake processes, project governance, portfolio management, strategic planning, resource capacity planning, financial planning and budgeting, capital and operational expenditure tracking, benefit realization planning, and program management concepts.

• Experience in developing and maintaining Planview reports and executive, operational, and governance dashboards.

• Background in supporting data quality initiatives, configuration governance, reference data management, taxonomy management, audit reviews, and compliance reporting.

• Knowledge or experience with Planview Enterprise Architecture, AgilePlace, and ProjectPlace.

• Experience in supporting integrations between Planview and platforms like Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), Jira, ServiceNow, SAP, Workday, Power BI, Microsoft Teams, and SharePoint.

• Proficiency in data mapping, API troubleshooting, user synchronization, integration monitoring, and error analysis.

• Experience with development, test, and production environments; configuration migrations; release planning; regression testing; and SaaS release reviews.

• Involvement in or support for platform governance boards, Change Advisory Boards, enhancement intake processes, prioritization reviews, platform roadmaps, standards reviews, and operational reviews is preferred.

• Preferred qualifications include Planview Administrator Training, Planview Portfolios Administration Training, Planview Reporting Training, Agile and Scrum Fundamentals, ITIL Foundation, SAFe Practitioner, and Power BI Certification.
