
Senior Business Development Manager – West Coast

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.
• Drive growth in new business and enhance account penetration within the parenteral market segment.
• Promote the company’s contract services.
• Cultivate and manage essential business relationships with commercial clients.
• Conduct research, identify opportunities, and generate new business through cold calling, inbound website inquiries, industry memberships, and networking events.
• Develop expertise in the territory and maintain lead generation utilizing strategic and consultative selling techniques.
• Oversee leads throughout the entire sales process from prospecting to closing, including follow-up, negotiations, and finalization.
• Maintain customer relationships, drive ongoing improvements, and convey customer needs internally.
• Collaborate both internally and externally to create profitable business opportunities and sustainable partnerships.
• Ensure accurate customer data management in the Salesforce CRM system.
• Produce activity reports, metrics, sales targets, and forecasts.
• Manage the proposal review process, pricing, and submission to clients.
• Monitor competitive activities and establish relationships with competitors for referred business.
• Participate in trade shows and conventions as necessary.
• Review proposals prior to the final assessment by the VP of Business Development.
• Lead negotiations of Mutual Non-Disclosure Agreements and Clinical/Commercial Supply Agreements under the guidance of the VP of Business Development and legal counsel.
• Manage key account relationships to ensure appropriate service levels and the exchange of planning and technical information.
• Supervise, coach, and mentor a Business Development team under the direction of the VP of Business Development.
• Ensure timely completion of team training and adherence to cGMP and company training requirements.
• Onboard new employees and maintain up-to-date training for the team.
• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Finance, or Business is required.
• A minimum of 12 years of relevant experience is essential.
• 5 to 8 years in project management, account management, sales, or marketing with client-facing responsibilities in the pharmaceutical or contract manufacturing sector.
• Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices is preferred.
• Experience in budgeting and forecasting is required.
• Prior sales training is advantageous.
