Senior Business Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Define the direction for requirements gathering across various product domains or intricate, cross-functional projects.

• Convert unclear or conflicting business goals into well-structured requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.

• Mediate disputes among various stakeholder groups.

• Detect systemic gaps and inefficiencies in products and workflows, proposing solutions that shape product strategy.

• Act as an escalation point for conflicts regarding requirements or scope between business stakeholders and engineering teams.

• Develop and uphold standards and best practices for requirements gathering within the Business Analyst team.

• Guide the strategy and prioritization of the backlog across different product areas.

• Provide counsel to the Director of Product Management regarding trade-offs.

• Oversee backlog grooming and release processes within the analyst team.

• Evaluate work item quality in Azure DevOps and mentor others on maintaining consistency.

• Cultivate relationships with senior business stakeholders and engineering leadership.

• Represent the analyst function in cross-functional and strategic discussions.

• Facilitate intricate or high-stakes requirements reviews and sign-off meetings.

• Offer advice on risks related to requirements and product roadmap decisions.

• Set standards for documentation, including BRDs, process maps, and data flow diagrams.

• Consolidate and report on the health of the backlog and trends in requirement completion.

• Provide guidance on data and reporting considerations for complex, cross-system requirements.

• Mentor and support less experienced analysts.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 8 years of experience in a business analyst role or a similar position within a technology-driven organization.

• Proven ability to lead requirements discovery and analysis across various product areas or complex, cross-functional initiatives.

• A history of mentoring or developing junior analysts.

• Strong proficiency in transforming ambiguous, competing, or undefined business needs into clear, actionable requirements.

• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies, including facilitating or advising on ceremonies across multiple teams.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with experience engaging senior stakeholders and engineering leadership.

• Proficient in SQL.

• Familiarity with database server concepts, such as tables, relationships, and data validation.

• Capability to lift 25 pounds.

• Frequent visual engagement to read documents and computer screens.

• Regular use of hearing and speech for communication via telephone and in person.

• Repetitive hand movements, including typing, writing, and using a 10-key pad.

• Ability to walk, bend, sit, reach, and stretch in all directions.
