Senior Body Design & Release Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Create, develop, and launch structural and mechanical components for stamped vehicle doors.

• Ensure adherence to quality, safety, functionality, cost-effectiveness, automotive regulations, and product performance standards.

• Collaborate on packaging with the Product Design Office, vehicle development, Exterior and Body Engineering teams, relevant departments, and suppliers.

• Offer feasibility assessments for concepts, sketches, and clay models from the Product Design Office.

• Lead initiatives focused on quality enhancement, weight reduction, cost efficiency, and process improvements.

• Convey technical product updates to management effectively.

• Establish functional and build objectives.

• Set build objectives and oversee DVP&R/DFMEA activities.

• Supervise production suppliers to ensure they meet requirements.

• Finalize geometry release utilizing NX Teamcenter CAD tools.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in designing and developing Body in White, Closures, Stamped Doors, and Door Modules.

• Proficiency in CAD with Unigraphics NX, Catia V5, and Teamcenter within a production release context for BIW (Body in White).

• Understanding of high strength steels/aluminum forming processes, welding parameters, and GD&T.

• Familiarity with Design Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (DFMEA), Design Verification Plan & Report (DVP&R), and validation plans.

• Experience in creating and editing Bills of Materials (BOM).

• Knowledge of Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) and/or Reactive Green/Black Belt is advantageous.

• Insights into CAE/Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) are beneficial.

• Strong skills in MS Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook).

• Familiarity with CATIA V5 is a plus.
