• Develop and create a new multi-tenant policy gateway as a Nest.js/TypeScript service within the client's internal framework and AWS environment.
• Suggest infrastructure modifications through Terraform pull requests for implementation by the client's DevOps team.
• Execute webhook contracts featuring HMAC authentication, Vault-managed secrets, IP allowlisting, ISO-8601 date handling, and policy-version selection at the time of loss.
• Construct the tenant router and registry with composite resolution and clearly defined failure behavior.
• Create source adapters with authentication per source, timeouts, retries with backoff, and circuit breaking capabilities.
• Establish tenant-specific SFTP landing zones, conduct file validation and quarantine, and perform idempotent PostgreSQL policy-store loads with snapshot retention and freshness monitoring.
• Define the canonical policy model and develop a shared canonical-to-target mapper.
• Lead the initial partner's field-mapping review alongside the client's claims expert.
• Provide per-tenant observability, including structured logs, metrics, Grafana dashboards, freshness alerts, and error-rate alerts.
• Develop an onboarding runbook for the integration of additional tenants.
• Create isolation negative tests to serve as a release gate.
• Conduct failure-mode drills and end-to-end walkthroughs in the client's sandbox environment.
• Assist with the client's security review and preparation for launch readiness.
• Collaborate directly with client engineers and domain experts across various time zones, primarily in an asynchronous manner.
• Over 5 years of backend engineering experience with a strong, recent focus on TypeScript in production environments.
• Proficiency with Nest.js or a similar dependency-injection-based Node framework.
• Background in building integration services or API gateways, including webhooks, signature-based authentication, retries, idempotency, circuit breakers, and third-party API adapters.
• Experience with PostgreSQL and relational data modeling; comfortable designing schemas and executing migrations.
• Familiarity with multi-tenant systems or other domains where data isolation is a critical requirement.
• Practical AWS experience with ECS/EKS or Lambda, SQS, S3, IAM, Secrets Manager, or Vault.
• Ability to read and propose Terraform configurations, even if another individual will implement them.
• AI-native working style utilizing tools such as Claude Code and Codex while reviewing every line of code delivered.
• Capability to clarify ambiguous requests, compose concise design notes, ask pertinent questions to clients early on, and deliver results with minimal oversight.
• Fluent in English with clear, proactive communication skills for engaging with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Some availability in the PT timezone, not exceeding once a week.
• Experience in the insurance domain, batch or file-based integrations, regulated data, Grafana/OpenTelemetry-style observability, and prior consulting or client-facing delivery are advantageous.
• Fully covered licenses for tools such as Cursor, Claude Pro, etc.
• Remote-first working environment.
• No unnecessary meetings, no Jira clutter, and no micromanagement.
• Complete autonomy over your workflow.
• Direct collaboration with the CEO, CTO, VPs, and client leadership.
• Opportunities for continuous growth and a strong culture of knowledge sharing.
