This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and QA teams to envision, design, and deliver impactful features.
• Design and develop scalable, high-performance backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code that emphasizes reliability and testability.
• Integrate third-party services and APIs with strong error handling and graceful degradation.
• Improve system performance and developer experience through automation and code refactoring.
• Diagnose and resolve complex issues throughout the stack.
• Identify potential areas for technical enhancements.
• Participate in code reviews and architectural discussions.
• Advocate for engineering best practices within the team.
• Document technical decisions, systems, and processes thoroughly.
• Utilize technologies including Java, Spring Boot, Docker, Kubernetes, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, Elasticsearch, and AWS Cloud Infrastructure.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Over 5 years of hands-on professional experience in software engineering, focusing on backend development.
• In-depth knowledge of Java and Spring Boot.
• Strong understanding of modern backend architecture and engineering best practices.
• Experience in designing, building, and scaling web services, RESTful APIs, and distributed systems.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong proficiency with relational databases and ORM frameworks like Hibernate.
• Exposure to frontend technologies such as AngularJS or React is an advantage.
• Excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills.
