Senior Backend Engineer – Event-Driven, Greenfield Development

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Create, develop, and sustain event-driven infrastructure, encompassing event buses, schema management, messaging integrations, error handling, and dependable event processing.

• Build and refine backend integrations with both internal and third-party services utilizing resilient patterns such as circuit breakers, retries, and backoff strategies.

• Design and implement new backend functionalities for credit management, which includes event models, system integrations, and automated workflows.

• Develop event-driven reporting solutions that leverage data from various business domains to facilitate report generation, approval workflows, and business insights.

• Assist in ensuring production readiness and traffic migration by validating new services under real-world conditions and guaranteeing reliable adoption.

⛳️ Requirements

• Practical experience with AWS EventBridge and event-driven architecture, including event schema design, Schema Registry, dead-letter queues (DLQs), replay mechanisms, and dependable event processing.

• Background in integrating third-party APIs and external services, with understanding of resilience patterns such as circuit breakers, retries, timeouts, and backoff strategies.

• Strong domain and event modeling expertise, preferably in a lending or credit-risk context, with the capability to design scalable event schemas and data models for critical business workflows.

• Experience in constructing data and reporting integrations, encompassing reporting databases, data pipelines, business intelligence tools like Tableau, and event-driven reporting workflows.

• Proven track record in designing and developing greenfield backend services, with the ability to establish new domains, services, and architectures without depending on existing legacy systems.

• Robust backend engineering skills, including the development of RESTful APIs, backend services, and integrations using scalable and maintainable design principles.

• Familiarity with AWS messaging and integration services, such as SQS, and implementing trustworthy asynchronous communication between distributed services.

• Experience with production readiness and system validation, including performance testing, monitoring, troubleshooting, and aiding in the controlled rollout of new services.
