Senior Backend Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Serbia.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain efficient, scalable, and clean backend services using Node.js and TypeScript.

• Collaborate with product managers and frontend engineers to create new product features from ideation to deployment.

• Take ownership of critical components of backend architecture and make enhancements to boost performance, reliability, and security.

• Produce thorough unit tests and perform code reviews.

• Recognize and implement system enhancements while refactoring legacy code.

• Mentor colleagues and share your engineering knowledge.

• Proactively utilize AI in daily tasks and pinpoint opportunities for AI to resolve engineering challenges.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of backend development experience, ideally in a product-focused setting.

• Strong practical experience with Node.js and modern frameworks like Koa or NestJS.

• Extensive knowledge of TypeScript, including advanced typing and module systems.

• Solid background with MongoDB or other NoSQL databases.

• Familiarity with event-driven architecture using technologies such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or Bull/Redis.

• Practical experience with ClickHouse or similar analytics databases and Elasticsearch.

• Strong grasp of system design, clean architecture principles, and performance optimization.

• Capable of working autonomously, taking initiative, and delivering projects.

• Comfortable collaborating within a Russian-speaking team.

• Already leveraging AI effectively in work, with a clear understanding of its value-add.
