This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.
• Design, develop, and sustain clean, efficient, and scalable backend services utilizing Node.js and TypeScript.
• Collaborate with product managers and frontend engineers to create new product features from conception to deployment.
• Take ownership of significant components of the backend architecture and make decisions to enhance performance, reliability, and security.
• Compose thorough unit tests and perform code reviews.
• Identify and implement enhancements to the system, including the refactoring of legacy code.
• Mentor team members and share your engineering knowledge.
• Actively integrate AI into daily tasks and recognize opportunities for AI to streamline processes.
• Tackle complex issues within a high-load, distributed system.
• Construct and scale infrastructure capable of processing millions in donations.
• Engage across the checkout experience, donor portals, and analytics pipelines.
• Over 7 years of backend development experience, ideally in a product-centric setting.
• Strong practical experience with Node.js and contemporary frameworks such as Koa or NestJS.
• Profound knowledge of TypeScript, including advanced typing and module systems.
• Significant experience with MongoDB or other NoSQL databases.
• Familiarity with event-driven architecture using tools like Kafka, RabbitMQ, or Bull/Redis.
• Practical experience with ClickHouse or similar analytics databases and Elasticsearch.
• Solid understanding of system design, clean architecture principles, and performance optimization.
• Capability to work autonomously, take responsibility, and successfully complete projects.
• Comfort in collaborating within a Russian-speaking team.
• Proven use of AI in professional settings.
• Previous experience in a remote-first, globally distributed team is a plus.
• Familiarity with Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog is preferred.
• Interest in the nonprofit technology sector is advantageous.
• Ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders is preferred.
