This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Design and create backend services that support comprehensive mortgage and lending workflows utilizing Java Spring Boot and cloud-native methodologies.
• Develop and sustain workflow orchestration solutions with Camunda 8, encompassing BPMN models, connectors, and workers.
• Convert intricate lending processes into executable and scalable workflows in collaboration with business and technical teams.
• Ensure that workflow implementations are robust, traceable, and comply with enterprise architectural standards.
• Design, implement, and manage API-first services adhering to OpenAPI standards.
• Construct secure APIs that utilize OAuth, identity management, and role-based access controls.
• Implement circuit breakers, retries, and timeouts to maintain system stability.
• Provide support for REST, messaging, and event-driven integrations.
• Develop and deploy services in cloud environments, preferably Azure, using API Management, Key Vault, and managed identities.
• Contribute to containerized and Helm-based cloud-native deployments.
• Support and enhance platforms that are deployed in Kubernetes environments.
• Contribute to the scalability, reliability, and operational readiness of the platform.
• Implement telemetry, logging, metrics, and distributed tracing.
• Utilize New Relic and the ELK Stack to monitor performance, diagnose issues, and ensure production readiness.
• Collaborate with QA and performance teams to resolve bottlenecks and optimize system performance under load.
• Adhere to DevSecOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and security scanning.
• Apply TDD, BDD, and DDD principles as appropriate.
• Engage in code reviews, design discussions, and architectural decision-making processes.
• Ensure that solutions comply with enterprise security, compliance, and risk requirements.
• Work collaboratively within a cross-functional Agile delivery team.
• Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, and technical estimations.
• Identify risks, dependencies, and opportunities for improvement.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 8–10 years of professional software development experience focused on backend and platform engineering.
• Hands-on experience in developing applications on Camunda 8 using BPMN, Connectors, and Workers.
• Strong proficiency in Java Spring Boot and microservices architecture.
• Expert-level experience in API-driven development, including OpenAPI standards, OAuth, and API security.
• Solid understanding of REST, messaging, event streaming, and concepts of distributed systems.
• Experience in implementing fault tolerance and resilience patterns, including circuit breakers and retry mechanisms.
• Familiarity with cloud services, preferably Microsoft Azure, including API Management, Key Vault, and identities.
• Strong understanding of cloud-native development, containerization, and Kubernetes-based deployments.
• Experience with Helm charts and infrastructure-aware application design.
• Strong foundation in Agile delivery methodologies.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, test automation, and secure development practices.
• Familiarity with application security scanning and remediation processes.
• Knowledge of TDD, BDD, DDD, and DevSecOps practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, particularly in complex distributed systems.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments with changing requirements.
• Preferably, experience in delivering solutions in mortgage, lending, or regulated financial services sectors.
• Preferably, experience with observability and telemetry tools such as New Relic and the ELK Stack.
• Preferably, experience in deploying or managing self-managed Camunda 8 clusters in AKS.
• Preferably, experience in deploying or managing self-managed workflow platforms in Kubernetes environments.
• Competitive salaried rate of $75–80 per hour.
• Incorporated business rate ranging from $90–95 per hour.
• Contract duration of 3 months.
