Senior Aviation Technical Advisor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Lead the technical execution of aviation finance projects, including aircraft leasing, maintenance, valuation support, appraisal, and technical due diligence activities.

• Establish technical and analytical methodologies, challenge existing assumptions, and ensure the delivery of precise, commercially sound, client-ready results.

• Take charge of or directly engage in intricate assignments necessitating senior-level technical judgment.

• Oversee and validate lease assessments, maintenance cash-flow evaluations, aircraft, engine, and inventory valuations, fleet analyses, technical documentation, lease returns, and transaction support.

• Manage projects from their initial scope and setup through planning, client interactions, technical evaluations, documentation, budget management, and risk management related to delivery.

• Mentor analysts and multi-location delivery teams, address technical inquiries, and enhance team competencies.

• Provide advisory services to clients regarding aircraft leasing, maintenance reserves, return conditions, MRO, asset management, and aircraft lifecycle issues.

• Create and uphold methodologies, tools, templates, and quality standards for aircraft finance and technical advisory tasks.

• Foster team development through coaching, technical evaluations, training, and task delegation.

• Contribute technical insights to proposals, client growth initiatives, and industry-related activities.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in aircraft leasing, lease management, aviation finance, aviation technical advisory, MRO, maintenance planning, asset management, appraisal support, or a related aviation discipline.

• At least 5 years of experience dealing with aircraft leases, maintenance reserves, return conditions, technical records, fleet maintenance responsibilities, and aircraft lifecycle considerations.

• Over 5 years of experience in leading and ensuring the quality of complex analyses involving aircraft and engine assets, leases, maintenance cash flows, valuations, or technical due diligence.

• A valid U.S. driver's license.

• Capability to pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check.

• Willingness and ability to travel by air and vehicle as required.

• Typically, at least 12 years of applicable experience in aircraft leasing, aircraft appraisal, asset management, technical advisory, or airline fleet and lease management.

• Experience collaborating with aircraft lessors, lenders, investors, airlines, MROs, OEMs, or technical service providers.

• Proficiency in aircraft appraisals, portfolio valuations, maintenance cash-flow forecasts, lease return and redelivery analysis, technical due diligence, asset-backed financing, or aircraft transaction support.

• Familiarity with reviewing lease documents, technical records, maintenance status reports, and inspection outputs.

• ISTAT Appraiser or ISTAT Candidate status is a plus.

• Valuable professional experience in aircraft engineering, CAMO, maintenance planning, technical records, or aircraft asset management.

• Experience in developing technical methodologies, training materials, quality-control procedures, or analytical tools.

• Ability to supervise junior team members and coordinate multi-location delivery teams.

• Credibility and confidence in advising senior clients on intricate technical and commercial aviation matters.

• Understanding of the requirements of lessors, airlines, lenders, investors, and MRO providers.

• Exceptional judgment and attention to detail.

• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

• Capability to collaborate across diverse disciplines, locations, and cultures.
