Senior Associate, Software Development

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kansas.

📋 Description

• Provide guidance and expertise in the development and enhancement of computer-based scientific, technical, and business software systems.

• Design, code, test, debug, and customize software applications to fulfill specified requirements.

• Implement, deploy, maintain, improve, and support enterprise mainframe applications.

• Utilize COBOL, TSO, JCL, Endevor, CICS, IDMS ADS/ADSO, IDMS Utilities, IDMS DC online features, IDMS, and DB2.

• Diagnose production issues and offer application support and solutions.

• Integrate performance, scalability, usability, and security measures.

• Collaborate with end users to establish new system requirements.

• Function in a team setting and mentor junior developers.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years of experience with a BS/BA degree, or 6 years of experience with a high school diploma.

• Proficiency in writing, compiling, and executing IDMS/ADSO COBOL programs.

• Technical expertise in designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining enterprise mainframe applications using COBOL.

• Candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Green Card Holders.

• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance is required.

• Preferred: Over 5 years of experience with COBOL, VSAM, JCL, and DB2.

• Preferred: Experience with the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

• Preferred: Cloud Practitioner certification or 3 years of cloud experience.

• Preferred: Experience in Java and web development.

• Familiarity with Agile methodologies, including Scrum and Test Driven Development.
