This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama.
• Assist in the procurement of materials, equipment, and services in alignment with program requirements, company protocols, and business necessities.
• Evaluate purchase requisitions for completeness, accuracy, funding details, necessary approvals, and adherence to processes.
• Prepare and distribute requests for quotes, bid packages, and routine solicitation documents to authorized suppliers.
• Collect supplier quotations and assess pricing, delivery, lead times, and other commercial aspects.
• Process and manage purchase orders, including acknowledgments, status updates, modifications, cancellations, and closeout activities.
• Collaborate with suppliers regarding purchase order specifics, delivery timelines, documentation, and follow-up tasks.
• Monitor outstanding purchase orders and follow up on supplier commitments.
• Assist in resolving routine procurement and supplier-related issues concerning delivery, quality, pricing, quantity, receiving, invoicing, and documentation.
• Maintain procurement files, records, and system data for accurate, complete, and audit-ready transactions.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, procedures, internal controls, and customer expectations.
• Engage with planning, operations, engineering, quality, finance, and supply chain stakeholders.
• Aid in tracking and reporting procurement status, order activities, and associated data.
• Support supplier documentation, setup, and onboarding processes.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
• Escalate non-routine issues, exceptions, and risks to senior team members or management.
• Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant procurement experience, or a Graduate Degree with 0 to 2 years of relevant procurement experience, or alternatively, a minimum of 6 years of relevant procurement experience without a degree.
• Prior experience in defense, aerospace, manufacturing, or other regulated sectors is preferred.
• Knowledge of procurement documentation, purchase order terms and conditions, and communication processes with suppliers.
• Experience in direct material, indirect procurement, or services procurement activities.
• Familiarity with tracking supplier deliveries, following up on orders, and resolving issues.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to support business or program execution.
• Basic understanding of price comparison, quote reviews, and commercial evaluation practices.
• Experience in supporting audit readiness, file maintenance, or internal control requirements.
• Working knowledge of procurement, purchasing, supply chain, sourcing, or related business operations.
• Experience in processing purchase orders, procurement administration, or transactional buying tasks.
• Familiarity with supplier quotations, purchasing documentation, and procurement records.
• Proficient in using ERP systems or similar business tools for procurement transactions and order management.
• Ability to apply established procedures, practices, and policies to routine procurement assignments.
• Capable of managing multiple tasks and priorities while maintaining accuracy and timeliness.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for coordination with internal stakeholders and suppliers.
• Ability to identify and resolve routine issues using sound judgment within defined guidelines.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
