Manager, Procurement Digital Transformation – Accounts Payable, Purchase Channels

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Bulgaria.

📋 Description

• Drive the strategic transformation roadmap for global Accounts Payable and Invoice-to-Pay processes.

• Recognize bottlenecks, manual tasks, recurring exceptions, and opportunities for process simplification.

• Decrease invoice cycle duration, errors, rework, and manual intervention.

• Enhance straight-through and touchless invoice processing.

• Advance PO compliance and promote better upstream purchasing practices.

• Establish baselines, targets, and KPIs to assess transformation benefits.

• Identify and prioritize automation and AI opportunities in invoice capture, coding, matching, duplicate detection, and exception management.

• Create business cases focused on productivity, accuracy, control enhancement, and ROI.

• Lead pilots and proof-of-concept initiatives, scaling successful solutions.

• Ensure controls, data quality, and human oversight for AI-driven processes.

• Oversee the global implementation and optimization of OCR/Intelligent Document Processing and Vendor Invoice Management solutions.

• Define requirements for invoice capture, validation, matching, approvals, and exception handling.

• Collaborate with SAP, OpenText VIM, and integration teams through design, testing, UAT, deployment, and stabilization phases.

• Enhance OCR accuracy and minimize manual correction rates.

• Spearhead the implementation and adoption of hosted and punch-out Supplier Catalogues.

• Identify suppliers and spend categories appropriate for catalogue enablement.

• Boost catalogue spending while decreasing free-text requisitions and non-compliant purchasing.

• Lead the implementation of Peppol, European e-invoicing requirements, Brazil Tax Regulations, and other global AP regulations.

• Convert regulatory requirements into business and technology specifications.

• Partner with Tax, Finance, Legal, AP, and Technology teams.

• Manage supplier enablement, testing, deployment readiness, and rollout across affected European entities.

• Achieve outcomes such as reduced invoice processing time and exceptions, improved OCR accuracy, increased PO-backed processing and catalogue adoption, successful OCR/VIM rollout, timely e-invoicing implementation, and measurable automation/AI productivity enhancements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of relevant experience in Accounts Payable, Procure-to-Pay, Source-to-Pay, Finance Transformation, Procurement Transformation, or a related field.

• Proven leadership in managing teams or significant transformation workstreams.

• Demonstrated success in delivering a major AP, P2P, or Finance transformation.

• Strong understanding of invoice capture, PO and non-PO invoices, matching, approvals, exception management, and invoice posting.

• Experience in process improvement through process engineering, Lean methodologies, automation, or continuous improvement initiatives.

• Excellent analytical skills with a history of using KPIs to identify challenges and showcase results.

• Capability to influence stakeholders across Procurement, Finance, Technology, and senior leadership levels.

• Proficient in professional English.

• Familiarity with various preferred technologies or processes, including SAP S/4HANA or SAP ECC Accounts Payable, OpenText Vendor Invoice Management, OCR/Intelligent Document Processing, SAP Ariba or SAP Business Network, supplier catalogues, Peppol and European e-invoicing, SAP Document and Reporting Compliance, RPA/workflow automation, AI applications, process mining, or Power BI is advantageous.

• Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain, Procurement, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
