This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Assist federal agencies and program offices in preparing for financial and compliance audits, including addressing Prepared by Client (PBC) requests, auditor inquiries, and follow-up requests.
• Gather, review, reconcile, and analyze financial, operational, and supporting documentation.
• Detect discrepancies, validate audit evidence, and ascertain suitable corrective measures.
• Assess internal controls, documentation, and business processes to pinpoint weaknesses, deficiencies, and enhancements for audit readiness.
• Formulate, execute, and oversee corrective action plans for audit findings and shortcomings.
• Monitor requests, action items, deadlines, and resolution statuses.
• Collaborate with Army finance, accounting, resource management, contracting, logistics, property, and program personnel.
• Acquire necessary information and address unresolved audit issues.
• Sustain audit evidence, working papers, trackers, schedules, and supporting documentation.
• Create reports, briefings, spreadsheets, correspondence, and other materials for leadership.
• Investigate and interpret relevant federal financial management, internal control, and audit requirements.
• Recognize opportunities to streamline processes, bolster internal controls, and improve audit readiness.
• Collaborate closely with finance, accounting, program, contracting, and audit teams.
• Possess an active Secret Security Clearance.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
• Over 6 years of experience in accounting, finance, information technology, logistics, data/IT, change management, audit, business management, or a related field.
• More than 3 years of experience analyzing financial or operational data, reviewing documentation, identifying discrepancies or deficiencies, and assisting with corrective actions, compliance, or process improvement initiatives.
• Experience in supporting auditing, accounting, financial management, compliance, or internal control functions within federal or Department of Defense organizations.
• Understanding of financial management and audit principles relevant to federal or Department of Defense entities, including Army financial management processes and audit readiness programs.
• Capability to interpret policies, procedures, regulations, and other governing guidance and apply them to audit, compliance, or financial management tasks.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to handle multiple audit requests, competing priorities, and set deadlines.
• Experience with Department of the Army or Department of Defense audit activities is highly preferred.
