This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Take responsibility for the overall financial performance (P&L) of designated BESS and Solar + BESS operating assets, focusing on revenue enhancement, expense oversight, and variance analysis compared to budget and investment thesis.
• Create and manage annual asset budgets along with 3–5-year financial projections for the portfolio, taking into account market trends, regulatory changes, and operational enhancements.
• Ensure compliance with operating agreement obligations, such as PPAs, credit agreements, company operating agreements, leases, easements, O&M agreements, long-term services agreements, and compliance contracts.
• Assist in cash management, forecasting, and liquidity planning alongside Portfolio Finance.
• Collaborate with Operations, O&M providers, and Performance Engineering to track and enhance asset performance using data systems and historical operational data.
• Develop and monitor KPIs, including availability, uptime, state of charge, round-trip efficiency, financial health metrics, and other asset-specific indicators.
• Detect performance discrepancies and anomalies, executing corrective measures and ongoing improvement initiatives to optimize energy production and revenue.
• Ensure compliance with operational protocols, ISO and regulatory standards, and environmental regulations.
• Assist with contract evaluations, modifications, renewals, and negotiations for new agreements with Legal, Finance, and Development teams.
• Generate and maintain internal asset performance reports, external stakeholder updates, and executive dashboards.
• Act as the primary operational leader for the assigned portfolio, directly reporting to the Vice President of Asset Management.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
• A minimum of 5–10 years of professional experience in asset management or a similar area, particularly with utility-scale renewable energy or energy storage projects.
• Familiarity with ISO/RTO market involvement and regulatory compliance.
• Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and the Microsoft Office suite.
• Strong project finance acumen, including knowledge of debt covenants, tax equity structures, and investor reporting obligations.
• Exceptional communication abilities with a knack for simplifying complex information for varied audiences.
• Strong quantitative skills, capable of conducting intricate financial and performance analyses.
• Detail-oriented, dedicated to continuous improvement, and focused on metrics and KPI management.
• Capability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment while managing multiple competing priorities.
• Willingness to travel approximately 5% of the time.
