Senior AS/400 RPG Developer Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Analyze, develop, and maintain applications on IBM i / AS/400 platforms.

• Execute corrective, evolutionary, and adaptive maintenance tasks.

• Create and sustain applications using RPG, Free-form RPG, and RPGLE (ILE RPG).

• Collaborate with legacy System/36 (S/36) applications and their routines.

• Evaluate requirements, business rules, and the implications of modifications.

• Utilize DB2 for i / DB2/400 for database management.

• Investigate incidents, determine root causes, and apply solutions.

• Manage support tickets in line with established Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

• Conduct testing and facilitate user acceptance processes.

• Document implemented solutions and modifications comprehensively.

• Assist in integrating AS/400 with other platforms.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience with IBM i / AS/400 (at least 5 years).

• Proficiency in RPG, Free-form RPG, RPGLE / ILE RPG, and System/36 (S/36) (minimum 5 years).

• Familiarity with DB2 for i / DB2/400 and SQL.

• Understanding of CL/CLLE (Control Language) for analyzing and maintaining routines, jobs, and batch processes.

• Experience in supporting and enhancing legacy systems.

• Background in troubleshooting and incident analysis.

• Capability to interpret business rules and convert them into technical solutions.

• Experience with Scrum methodologies and agile team environments.

• Knowledge of APIs, web services, and systems integration.

• Experience in modernizing AS/400 applications.

• Understanding of ITIL and practices related to incident, problem, and change management.

• Experience in high-stakes, high-volume transaction environments.

• Familiarity with the insurance sector, including policy administration, reinsurance, claims, and underwriting systems.
