Senior Architect – Data & Analytics, Databricks, Snowflakes

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Spearhead the creation of modern data architectures across cloud, hybrid, and on-premises settings.

• Convert business, information, analytics, and AI needs into technical architectures and implementation strategies.

• Establish frameworks for data ingestion, transformation, orchestration, storage, modeling, serving, governance, security, and observability.

• Design lakehouse, data warehouse, data mesh, data product, and hybrid architectures.

• Generate architecture diagrams, standards, reference architectures, technical designs, and implementation plans.

• Assess Snowflake, Databricks, and Microsoft Fabric platform options and their trade-offs.

• Develop scalable models for batch, streaming, event-driven, and incremental data processing.

• Assist teams in deploying notebooks, pipelines, SQL, Python, reusable frameworks, and infrastructure-as-code.

• Outline environment promotion and CI/CD practices for development, testing, and production environments.

• Conduct discovery sessions, architecture workshops, design reviews, and stakeholder working sessions.

• Cultivate relationships with client executives, technology leaders, data leaders, engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders.

• Lead current-state assessments and maturity evaluations, creating prioritized recommendations and roadmaps.

• Contribute to proposals, statements of work, estimates, presentations, demonstrations, and solution design.

• Direct technical efforts for data engineers, analytics engineers, architects, analysts, and client teams.

• Oversee architecture reviews and design governance throughout the delivery process.

• Mentor engineers and architects through coaching, collaboration, feedback, and knowledge sharing.

• Develop reusable accelerators, templates, standards, playbooks, and service offerings.

• Integrate data security, privacy, access control, compliance, retention, and responsible data usage into architectural decisions.

• Create strategies for data quality monitoring, lineage, cataloging, documentation, and stewardship.

• Specify operational requirements for monitoring, alerting, incident response, disaster recovery, and service-level objectives.

• Analyze and enhance platform cost management, capacity planning, workload isolation, and resource utilization.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, analytics engineering, or a similar technical consulting role.

• Practical production experience with at least two of Snowflake, Databricks, and Microsoft Fabric.

• Proven track record in designing and delivering enterprise-level or large-scale cloud data platforms.

• In-depth understanding of data modeling, data integration, lakehouse and warehouse architectures, analytics architecture, and data governance.

• Expertise in SQL and Python, including reviewing and guiding production-quality code.

• Familiarity with data pipeline orchestration, CI/CD, source control, automated testing, and environment promotion.

• Experience in leading architecture workshops, technical design sessions, or complex delivery projects.

• Capability to articulate technical decisions, alternatives, risks, and business impacts to diverse audiences.

• Proven ability to mentor technical teams and implement repeatable engineering standards.

• Readiness and capability to travel periodically for client engagements, team meetings, or industry events.
