This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Deliver advanced technical assistance by collaborating with Tier 1 and Tier 2 Service Desk teams to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve intricate customer issues.
• Engage in major incident response and conduct root cause analyses.
• Evaluate business, product, and customer requirements to create scalable, maintainable, high-performing, and interoperable technical solutions.
• Work alongside Product, Engineering, Support, and other relevant stakeholders to design, develop, test, implement, and maintain enhancements and bug fixes.
• Assess emerging technologies and suggest enhancements to tools, frameworks, coding standards, and software development methodologies.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to developers and Tier 1/Tier 2 support teams.
• Decompose technical tasks, direct implementation strategies, and act as the main technical escalation point.
• Maintain and improve development frameworks, technical documentation, and operational procedures.
• Ensure that solutions comply with security, privacy, quality, performance, and architectural standards.
• Mentor and coach junior developers and co-op students through code evaluations and technical advice.
• Participate in an on-call production support rotation and offer after-hours assistance for critical incidents.
• Safeguard confidential information and utilize it solely for employment-related responsibilities.
• Post-secondary degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related discipline, and/or equivalent professional experience.
• Over 8 years of experience in Software Development using Java.
• Proven experience in developing software applications.
• Familiarity with unit and functional testing practices.
• Experience in comprehensive feature development.
• Background in building complex systems.
• Proficiency with HL7 (V2, FHIR) is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of Hibernate, Spring, REST web services, and Git is a plus.
• Experience in a support/troubleshooting role is an advantage.
• Preference will be given to candidates located in Ontario.
