Senior Android Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Design and enhance the primary functionalities of the GoSpotCheck Android application utilized by retail field teams globally.

• Serve as the technical liaison to the Mobile Engineering Manager, influencing architectural choices, maintaining code quality standards, and guiding the technical direction for the Android team.

• Provide mentorship and assistance to fellow engineers through code reviews, pairing sessions, and offering technical advice.

• Collaborate intimately with iOS, QA, backend, and ML/IR teams across the US, Poland, Hungary, and Ukraine.

• Engage in cross-team technical discussions, sprint planning, and prioritizing the project roadmap.

• Recognize and promote enhancements in build pipelines, testing methodologies, and development processes.

• Explore new Android technologies, including Jetpack Compose, on-device ML, and camera/AR integrations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of professional Android development experience using Kotlin.

• Deep understanding of contemporary Android architectural patterns (MVVM, Clean Architecture, multi-module projects).

• Experience with Jetpack libraries (Compose, Navigation, Room, WorkManager, CameraX).

• Proven history of mentoring other engineers or spearheading technical initiatives.

• Experience working within international, distributed teams.

• Exceptional communication skills — capable of conveying technical trade-offs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Willingness to take ownership beyond individual code contributions — including team processes, architectural decisions, and delivery results.

• Proficiency in English at an advanced level.

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines for mobile (GitHub Actions, Bitrise, Fastlane).

• Familiarity with on-device ML frameworks (TensorFlow Lite, MediaPipe).

• Experience with ARCore or camera-based capture workflows.

• Background in retail technology, field service, or enterprise mobile applications.

• Experience in profiling and enhancing app performance, battery consumption, and network efficiency.

• Understanding of cross-platform considerations (collaborating with iOS/Swift teams on shared features).
