Senior Analytics Engineer, DBT, GCP

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Join a financial institution to develop the data transformation and consumption layer within a Google Cloud setting.

• Manage the journey of data from its source to the dashboard, focusing on quality, performance, and cost efficiency.

• Create, test, and document data transformation models utilizing DBT.

• Enhance and refine SQL queries along with dimensional and relational models in BigQuery.

• Oversee and improve BigQuery processing efficiency and expense management.

• Construct, sustain, and orchestrate data pipelines using Airflow.

• Design dashboards and semantic models on the Looker Platform.

• Collect requirements from business stakeholders and convert them into data-driven solutions.

• Execute root-cause analyses and suggest solutions based on insights.

• Document and categorize data assets while advocating for best practices in data governance.

• Automate processes and conduct exploratory analyses using Python.


⛳️ Requirements

• Strong experience as an Analytics Engineer, BI Engineer, or in a comparable role.

• Proficient in advanced SQL, including query optimization and dimensional and relational modeling.

• Extensive experience with DBT for the creation, testing, and documentation of transformation pipelines.

• Familiar with Airflow for constructing, maintaining, and orchestrating complex data pipelines.

• Comprehensive understanding of BigQuery, including performance optimization and cost management, along with advanced platform features.

• Knowledge of other Google Cloud Platform data services, such as Google Cloud Storage.

• Skilled in developing dashboards on the Looker Platform.

• Proficient in Python for automation, custom pipeline creation, and/or exploratory analyses.

• Familiar with product metrics (AARRR), marketing metrics (LTV, CAC), or financial metrics.

• Experience with data governance practices, including the documentation and tagging of data assets.

• Consultative mindset with the capability to effectively engage with non-technical stakeholders.

• Ability to translate business requirements into data solutions.

• Strong analytical and critical-thinking abilities, with a focus on identifying root causes of issues.

• Excellent documentation and organizational skills for managing deliverables.

• Capacity to operate independently in a fully remote work setting.

• Required expertise and practical experience with DBT, BigQuery, Airflow, and Looker Platform.
