Senior Analytics Engineer – DBT

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Create, manage, and enhance data transformation pipelines utilizing DBT.

• Construct and oversee intricate data workflows with Apache Airflow.

• Develop and execute dimensional and relational models to facilitate strategic analytics and KPIs.

• Ensure data integrity, dependability, and traceability through rigorous testing, monitoring, and adherence to engineering best practices.

• Structure, organize, and provide datasets for analytical usage.

• Design and refine high-performance SQL queries for large datasets.

• Leverage BigQuery to enhance operational efficiency, optimize costs, and improve performance.

• Create and sustain dashboards and semantic layers utilizing the Looker platform.

• Advocate for best practices in data documentation, governance, and cataloging.

• Assist business teams in establishing metrics, KPIs, and analytical needs.

• Engage in architectural discussions and play a role in the advancement of the organization’s data platform.

• Automate workflows and routines using Python when necessary.

• Act as a technical resource for the team, imparting knowledge and promoting best practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience as an Analytics Engineer, BI Engineer, Data Engineer, or in a similar role.

• Advanced proficiency in SQL, including dimensional and relational modeling, query optimization, and the development of analytical solutions.

• Extensive experience with DBT for creating, testing, documenting, and maintaining data transformation pipelines.

• Background in building, maintaining, and orchestrating pipelines using Apache Airflow.

• In-depth knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP), with substantial experience in BigQuery, focusing on performance tuning, cost-saving strategies, and management of analytical environments.

• Familiarity with data services within the GCP ecosystem, such as Google Cloud Storage.

• Experience in developing dashboards, semantic models, and analytical solutions on the Looker platform.

• Proficient in Python for process automation, custom pipeline construction, and exploratory analysis.

• Experience with data documentation, governance, cataloging, and quality assurance practices.

• Plus: understanding of business, product, or marketing metrics such as AARRR, CAC, LTV, retention, and engagement.

• Plus: experience in Modern Data Stack environments.

• Plus: involvement in large-scale Analytics Engineering projects.

• Plus: familiarity with best practices for data pipeline observability and monitoring.
