Senior Analytics Engineer – Business Intelligence

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of governed data models, tables, views, and semantic layers for business intelligence reporting.

• Design, construct, and sustain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines.

• Convert stakeholder reporting requirements into robust data models and pipelines.

• Define and uphold business KPIs utilizing SQL and Python.

• Execute data quality checks, validation processes, and maintain thorough documentation.

• Develop and manage dashboards and visualizations with Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms.

• Provide support for leadership-critical reporting deliverables.

• Advance the data platform and architecture, including legacy pipelines.

• Create secure and scalable data access pathways in collaboration with IT and data partners.

• Guide and mentor members of the data engineering, analysis, validation, and BI reporting teams.

• Foster organizational data literacy through comprehensive documentation and training initiatives.

• Conduct ad hoc analyses using SQL or Python.

• Responsibly utilize AI-assisted development tools for SQL, Python, and documentation purposes.

• Assess and integrate AI/LLM-powered BI functionalities, including natural-language querying, semantic layers, summaries, and anomaly detection alerts.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Data Analysis, or a related discipline with 6+ years of experience OR a Master's degree with 3+ years of experience.

• Extensive hands-on expertise in data modeling and database/warehouse design.

• Proficient in SQL and strong skills in Python (pandas, PySpark, or similar technologies).

• Practical experience in building and maintaining source-of-truth ETL/ELT pipelines within production environments.

• Familiarity with BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or QuickSight.

• Proven experience in mentoring or leading engineers or analysts.

• Ability to navigate ambiguous and evolving requirements while collaborating with business stakeholders.

• Excellent communication and technical documentation abilities.

• Experience operating in an agile setting and managing multiple concurrent priorities.

• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted coding and productivity tools, along with the capability to review and validate outputs.
