Senior Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Execute analyses and research to facilitate consultations as outlined in Section 7 of the Endangered Species Act.

• Evaluate documents from action agencies and offer technical support to Federal action agencies during ESA Section 7 consultations.

• Conduct thorough analyses of scientific literature, agency documents, and other relevant information.

• Examine the effects of activities on protected species.

• Formulate and assess mitigation and monitoring strategies to back agency conclusions under the ESA.

• Carry out record-keeping and documentation activities to ensure adherence to the Endangered Species Act and other relevant statutes.

• Assist the National Marine Fisheries Service Office of Protected Resources.

• Provide personnel support services and contribute to Ocean Associates’ research and policy advisory efforts for government and industry clients.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in a relevant field along with 3 years of pertinent experience.

• Additional years of education beyond the Bachelor’s Degree may be considered as a substitute for experience.

• Documented education and/or experience in environmental regulations and the Federal regulatory process; environmental sciences; biological sciences, including fisheries biology/ecology, marine mammal biology/ecology, sea turtle biology/ecology, and/or marine biology/ecology; ecological risk assessment or environmental impact analysis; or scientific project management.

• Preferred background in Gulf of Mexico and South Atlantic fisheries and ecosystems.

• Excellent technical writing and communication abilities.

• Capability to work efficiently both independently and in a collaborative team environment.

• Willingness to accept constructive feedback and take appropriate action.
