
Senior Advanced Project Engineer – Electronics Supplier Development

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +3 more states.
• Assess the capabilities of suppliers providing electronic components and facilitate the transition of hardware from development to production.
• Perform risk evaluations for suppliers and execute targeted quality enhancement plans for the manufacturing processes of electronic components.
• Lead and engage in capacity evaluation activities.
• Define clear metrics and performance expectations regarding electronic components.
• Collaborate with suppliers to spearhead and support OPEX initiatives aimed at improving product flow, throughput, lead time, and yield.
• Ensure that suppliers of electronic components adhere to quality management systems, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Work in conjunction with engineering, New Product Introduction, manufacturing, and quality assurance teams.
• Address supplier-related challenges and enhance overall supply chain performance.
• Travel locally and domestically 25% of the time, with the possibility of up to 50% on rare occasions.
• Report directly to the Director of Supplier Development.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical field such as science, technology, engineering, or mathematics.
• At least 5 years of experience in manufacturing, engineering, and/or supplier development, focusing on Printed Wiring Boards and/or other electrical component production/design/engineering/New Product Introduction.
• Expertise in quality management and problem-solving methodologies, including Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) and/or Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP/PPAP).
• Familiarity with aerospace standards and practices related to electronic components/PWB manufacturing.
• Extensive understanding of supplier development strategies, supplier relationship management, and quality control.
• Experience in project management and Kaizen facilitation.
• Knowledge of Total Preventative Maintenance, asset management aimed at reducing downtime, critical spare parts, and CAPEX proposals.
• Proficient in budget management and possess strong financial acumen.
• Over 6 years of experience in leadership and team management.
• Green or Black Belt Certification(s) in Lean/Six Sigma.
• Candidate must qualify as a U.S. Person: a U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, individual with protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status, or capable of obtaining an export authorization.
