
Electrical Engineering Lead β Data Centers

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
β’ Design and develop electrical systems for hyper-scale data centers, encompassing medium- and low-voltage power distribution, backup power systems, and emergency systems.
β’ Create and sustain electrical schematics, bills of materials, and installation drawings.
β’ Ensure adherence to industry standards, codes, and regulations, including NEC and IEC standards.
β’ Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to establish specifications, design criteria, and project budgets.
β’ Analyze electrical systems to detect and rectify issues, such as load balancing, capacity planning, and optimizing power consumption.
β’ Oversee and maintain electrical systems via preventative maintenance, testing, and repairs.
β’ Develop and enforce electrical safety procedures and training programs.
β’ Stay updated on advancements in electrical engineering and data center technology, proposing enhancements as necessary.
β’ Take responsibility for the successful completion of projects within the electrical discipline.
β’ Offer specialized technical insights, mentorship, and leadership to junior and mid-level engineers.
β’ Approve and validate work as the Engineer of Record.
β’ Provide engineering budget and schedule estimates for large, complex projects.
β’ Foster technical client relationships and significantly contribute to sales efforts.
β’ Collaborate with global AECOM teams on prominent data center projects for international clients.
β’ Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with ten (10) years of pertinent experience in electrical design and/or electrical engineering, specifically in data center infrastructure, or a demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
β’ Professional Engineer License (P.E.) is mandatory.
β’ Extensive background in electrical engineering for data centers or other critical facilities.
β’ Strong understanding of NEC (NFPA70).
β’ Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
β’ Capacity to develop and sustain strong relationships with clients.
β’ Ability to think innovatively and spot opportunities to enhance the client experience.
β’ Experience utilizing building information modeling (BIM) software, particularly ACC Cloud.
β’ Familiarity with data center design and construction, including design criteria and industry standards.
β’ Must be eligible to work in the United States.
