Senior Actuarial Associate

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut, +12 more states.

📋 Description

• Assist in the quarterly financial reporting for US GAAP, Bermuda EBS/BSCR, and embedded value frameworks.

• Evaluate modeled outcomes and create reporting packages.

• Oversee and enhance analytics and reporting.

• Improve, streamline, and automate reporting procedures and analytical frameworks.

• Aid in the onboarding process for new reinsurance treaties and products.

• Design and establish controls and analytical frameworks.

• Assist with annual actuarial assumption reviews via experience analysis, assumption evaluation, and financial impact assessment.

• Support the annual planning and quarterly forecasting activities.

• Act as a primary contact for external audit inquiries related to actuarial reporting.

• Participate in ad hoc projects and strategic initiatives within actuarial and finance sectors.

• Collaborate with Finance and Investments.

• Execute other assigned duties.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, business, or a related discipline is required.

• A minimum of two years of actuarial experience is necessary.

• Knowledge of US GAAP (LDTI) and/or EBS/BSCR is preferred.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential.

• Capability to anticipate challenges, solve problems, take initiative, and adapt in a dynamic, expanding business environment.

• Exceptional attention to detail is required.

• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with others to support critical initiatives.

• ASA designations are preferred.

• Familiarity with R, Python, and/or similar programming languages is preferred.

• Experience with actuarial modeling software like Prophet or MG-ALFA is preferred.

• Candidates must reside in the Eastern/Central time zones, specified operating states, or be within commuting distance of the Charlotte, North Carolina office for remote work eligibility.

• Ability to sit for extended periods and work on a computer is necessary.

• Must be capable of lifting up to 15 pounds occasionally.
