Lead Actuary, Valuation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of valuation and reserving for Pearl's MSSP ACO portfolio from the model development stage through to financial closure.

• Revise, enhance, and manage Pearl's MSSP valuation model.

• Oversee monthly and quarterly financial closes.

• Establish IBNR reserves and provide monthly results for Pearl's financial reporting.

• Reconcile the previous performance year's outcomes with the final CMS settlement.

• Create forecasts for each new performance year as additional ACO partners are onboarded.

• Define Pearl's interpretation of MSSP data and collaborate with the Engineering team to implement that framework.

• Collaborate across departments with Operations, Customer Success, Engineering, and Data Science teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 6 years of relevant actuarial experience.

• Extensive knowledge of MSSP offerings.

• Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a similar quantitative discipline.

• Proficient in spreadsheet analytical and modeling skills, including Excel or Google Sheets.

• Strong data analysis capabilities utilizing SQL.

• Familiarity with Python for data analysis and automation (preferred).

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex financial information to non-technical audiences and executive leadership (preferred).

• Experience in an ACO environment or a comparable setting (preferred).

• Proven track record of making an impact in a fast-paced, growing startup environment (preferred).

• ASA or FSA designation (preferred).
