Senior Accounting Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Manage a portfolio of client relationships from the onboarding phase through to the completion and renewal of engagements.

• Lead intricate, high-stakes, or pioneering engagements.

• Address escalations that involve challenging methodology inquiries.

• Articulate AI-generated deliverables to client finance teams and fund managers.

• Transform client trends into product and process modifications with well-defined engineering priorities.

• Plan engagements by evaluating risks, establishing materiality, and determining the scope of procedures.

• Review verification and audit processes as well as AI-generated workpapers, approving them prior to delivery to clients or engagement partners.

• Make and document decisions regarding the sufficiency and appropriateness of evidence.

• Monitor AICPA standards and firm quality policies to ensure that methodology and AI workflows remain up to date.

• Author and maintain audit methodology, work programs, and quality review standards.

• Specify AI accuracy requirements and design corresponding evaluations and test cases.

• Develop AI- and technology-driven modules and prototypes.

• Collaborate with the engagement partner to determine when AI-assisted procedures are ready for client implementation.

• Establish feedback loops to enhance the system.

• Mentor Accounting Engineers and evaluate their work.

• Assist in the hiring, interviewing, and onboarding of new team members.

• Contribute to the growth of the internal knowledge base.

⛳️ Requirements

• 6–10+ years of pertinent experience.

• CPA certification required.

• Experience as a senior accounting and audit professional.

• Familiarity with private funds, SPVs, private companies, employee benefit plans, government entities, and nonprofits.

• Understanding of AICPA auditing and attestation standards.

• Knowledge of firm quality management policies.

• Capability to assess risks, establish materiality, and define procedure scopes.

• Competence in evaluating the sufficiency and appropriateness of evidence.

• Proficiency in defining AI accuracy requirements and designing evaluations and test cases.

• Ability to construct modules and prototypes using AI and technology tools.
