This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.
• Set up POC accounting for current ARP brands and newly acquired operating entities.
• Develop historical POC accounting back to the acquisition date of each brand and continue it through the present period.
• Reconcile historical POC accounting with the general ledger and the initial balance sheet.
• Create POC timelines and readiness checkpoints for new acquisitions.
• Identify and address gaps in source data, job setup, cost coding, and accounting procedures.
• Supervise job costing across ARP brands.
• Evaluate cost accruals and period-end cutoffs.
• Investigate cost overruns, unbilled expenses, missing charges, and other inconsistencies.
• Assess job statuses and percent-complete calculations.
• Analyze final margins and report notable variances and trends.
• Monitor contract assets and liabilities.
• Manage monthly POC accounting schedules across all ARP brands.
• Ensure POC schedules and accompanying documentation are precise, timely, and ready for audits.
• Develop and document SOPs for POC accounting, job costing, and job status evaluations.
• Standardize POC methodologies, processes, and templates.
• Create training materials and mentor accounting personnel.
• Suggest process and system enhancements across AccuLynx, QuickBooks Online, Power BI, and other platforms.
• Train and support Senior Accountants.
• Review accounting schedules and provide constructive feedback and coaching.
• Establish accountability regarding POC schedules and closing deadlines.
• Collaborate with corporate and operating company teams, Operations, executives, auditors, and lenders.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Over 6 years of progressive accounting experience.
• At least 3 years of direct involvement with percentage-of-completion revenue recognition.
• In-depth knowledge of ASC 606 as it pertains to construction or long-term contracts.
• Practical experience with job costing, WIP schedules, and over/under billing analysis.
• Background in reviewing the work of other accounting professionals and training staff.
• Advanced Excel proficiency, including experience with large data sets, lookups, pivot tables, and complex financial schedules.
• Strong grasp of month-end closing processes.
• Capability to analyze job-level financial data and pinpoint discrepancies or unusual trends.
• Ability to operate effectively in a remote, multi-entity setting.
• Travel to operating company locations is less than 10%.
