This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +44 more states.
• Deliver operational, accounting, and consulting services for Tribal governments.
• Oversee monthly closing procedures, grants management, grant reporting, and financial reporting to key stakeholders.
• Create polished client deliverables and ensure they are completed on time.
• Formulate policies and procedures regarding significant accounting issues.
• Collaborate with clients to comprehend business practices, pinpoint areas for improvement, define new processes, and revise policies and procedures.
• Execute project initiation tasks, adhere to work plans, follow schedules, and attend kickoff meetings.
• Coordinate with clients throughout the audit process, assisting them in preparing for audits.
• Contribute to the growth of the practice.
• Review personal and team work for precision and accuracy.
• Act as a vital member of the Business Consulting Services team.
• Travel occasionally to client sites, firm training sessions, or industry conferences.
• A Bachelor’s degree is required; a focus in Accounting or a related field is preferred.
• A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, with a preference for not-for-profit and/or governmental experience.
• Experience in one or more of the following areas is preferred: grants management, financial accounting including account reconciliation, implementation of governmental accounting standards, and/or accounts payable processing.
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities, including client service through email, phone, chat, and helpdesk ticket systems.
• Capable of understanding problems, engaging in critical thinking, and identifying innovative solutions.
• Effective time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects/processes under tight deadlines.
• Competent in working independently, prioritizing tasks, setting goals, and delivering quality work.
• A self-directed professional with excellent interpersonal skills.
• Capacity to collaborate effectively across functions, departments, and teams while fostering trusted relationships.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and one or more government accounting/grant management software systems.
• Willingness to travel as necessary, approximately 10–15% of the time.
