This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Act as the primary manager for all Division Managers, the Project Team, and the ERP Specialist.
• Guide Division Managers through individual meetings, performance discussions, and development planning.
• Assign ownership of division results and hold managers accountable for KPIs and commitments.
• Tackle underperformance and lead teams through changes in organization, tools, and processes.
• Oversee overall divisional performance, which includes revenue per FTE, utilization, realization, and growth.
• Collaborate on capacity planning, workload balancing, and resourcing by utilizing systems-of-record data.
• Manage projects and support BKA process and technology initiatives.
• Ensure timely and quality delivery of client commitments.
• Escalate and provide guidance for complex or at-risk client engagements.
• Shift focus from report delivery to proactive advisory and identify opportunities for cross-selling and service expansion.
• Lead the adoption of AI across the production organization through training, use cases, implementation, measurement, and coaching.
• Collect team feedback and work with Operations and Shared Operations to enhance tools, processes, and guidance.
• Align priorities with the Director of Technical Accounting and Operations Manager.
• Represent production requirements, constraints, and resourcing decisions to the Sr. Director & Head of BKA.
• Minimum of 10 years in progressive accounting roles.
• At least 1 year of leadership experience in public accounting, outsourced or fractional accounting, or a client-service firm.
• Demonstrated success in managing a production team of over 10 accounting professionals, either directly or through managers.
• Experience in coaching and developing managers, performing performance evaluations, creating development plans, and addressing underperformance.
• Proven ability to manage division or department financial performance, including P&L, revenue per FTE, utilization, and realization.
• Background in capacity planning and workload balancing among teams or client portfolios.
• Experience acting as an escalation point for client relationships, preferably with startup or high-growth clients.
• Leadership experience with managers, encompassing coaching, delegation, KPI accountability, and managing through transitions.
• Performance management expertise using KPIs and systems-of-record data.
• Ability to handle client escalations and support cross-selling and service-expansion initiatives.
• Capacity to drive the adoption of AI tools, systems, and processes.
• Advisory mindset focused on proactive consultation beyond mere report delivery.
• Comfortable using AI tools in both accounting and operational tasks.
• Sound judgment regarding the value of AI, human oversight, and client data protection.
• Experience in cross-functional collaboration across BKA and other service lines or departments.
• Clear, data-driven communication skills aimed at senior leadership.
• CPA license is preferred.
• Project management experience is a plus.
• Familiarity with workflow management, time-tracking systems, and client-intelligence tools such as Knownwell is a bonus.
• Exposure to AI or automation tools in accounting workflows is advantageous.
