This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee the comprehensive flow of internal and state payroll data through the university's payroll systems, ensuring precision, promptness, and adherence to policies.
• Manage payroll adjustments via the university’s internal payroll platform.
• Address exceptions and reconcile items such as rejected, suspense, return-check, and corrections.
• Conduct audits on contract and hourly payments.
• Provide support for the PeopleSoft internal payroll application and engage in testing for upgrades, updates, and new functionalities.
• Assist with state payroll processing as required.
• Keep abreast of legislative changes concerning Department of Labor, INS, and IRS regulations.
• Execute other duties as necessary.
• Assist clients in higher education and nonprofit sectors with payroll, grant management, finance, process enhancement, technology implementations, and change management.
• Bachelor’s degree.
• At least two years of professional experience in accounting, human resources, or payroll administration.
• Proven experience in payroll and payroll processing.
• Demonstrated proficiency in computer skills, including spreadsheets, database management, querying, and word processing.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication abilities.
• Proficient written communication skills.
• Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Skill in interpreting institutional policies, plans, objectives, rules, and regulations, and conveying these interpretations to others.
• Experience working with diverse groups and populations.
• Capacity to forge trusted advisor relationships with clients.
• Background in supporting sales and business development.
• Willingness to travel occasionally based on business and client requirements.
• Preferred: bachelor's or master's degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field.
• Preferred: experience in foreign tax compliance reporting, supervisory roles, and familiarity with PeopleSoft or Oracle ERP systems.
