Accounting Analyst II

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Assess the suitable accounting treatment for grant awards and funding agreements.

• Oversee grant funding, expenditures, reimbursements, and related activities to ensure accurate recording in the general ledger and supporting sub-ledgers.

• Create comprehensive grant funding reports, journal entries, and accompanying documentation.

• Address requests from financial and compliance audits.

• Evaluate variances in financial statements and investigate any significant or unusual activities.

• Reconcile intricate balance sheet accounts and address discrepancies through investigation and resolution.

• Execute internal control activities and ensure adherence to accounting and grant requirements.

• Identify, document, and rectify control deficiencies.

• Review and revise accounting policies and procedures as necessary.

• Design, document, implement, and execute new accounting processes and procedures when required.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related discipline.

• Over 4 years of experience in corporate or public accounting.

• Familiarity with U.S. GAAP and internal control measures.

• Experience in researching and applying accounting guidelines to complex transactions.

• Proficient in analyzing financial statements, performing account reconciliations, journal entries, and variance analyses.

• Capability to identify accounting and compliance risks and formulate effective solutions.

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including the use of pivot tables and VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP functions.
