This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Develop and manage the calendar for month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closings.
• Create journal entries, oversee reconciliations, and conduct variance analyses.
• Revamp treasury operations, including the structure of bank accounts, cash positioning, and coordination of funding draws.
• Prepare cash reconciliations for both operating and restricted accounts.
• Collaborate with development and construction teams to monitor project-specific funding and expenditures.
• Assist in the implementation of the ERP system, from gathering requirements to data migration, testing, and going live.
• Redesign and automate manual processes during the ERP implementation phase.
• Generate monthly reporting packages and financial statements for review by leadership, investors, and the board.
• Maintain proactive communication with the Controller and CFO, escalating issues promptly with potential solutions.
• Support reporting requirements for auditors, lenders, and investors.
• Oversee procure-to-pay and order-to-cash processes, which include vendor invoices, payment runs, invoicing, collections, and cash applications.
• Assist in capitalizing development and construction costs.
• Manage construction-in-progress schedules and verify asset classifications.
• Draft accounting policies and technical memos related to capitalization, ASC 842 lease accounting, and revenue recognition.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
• Over 5 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, particularly in capital-intensive sectors.
• Ability to work effectively as a hands-on individual contributor.
• In-depth technical accounting knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting.
• Experience in project accounting, construction in progress, capitalization policies, and lease structures in accordance with ASC 842.
• Proven track record in preparing audit-ready financial statements.
• Skilled in preparing journal entries, leading month-end closings, and executing balance-sheet reconciliations.
• Familiarity with procure-to-pay, order-to-cash, and cash management operations.
• Direct experience in treasury or cash management.
• Previous involvement in an ERP implementation or systems conversion is highly preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proactive approach.
• Capable of managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines in an unstructured environment.
• Proficient in building processes.
• Strong attention to detail and sound judgment.
• Ability to balance thoroughness, speed, and practicality.
