This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Take charge of technical accounting functions for designated reinsurance and Lloyds portfolios, encompassing premium, claims, commission, brokerage, tax, and settlement accounting.
• Analyze contracts, endorsements, bordereaux, and placement details to ensure accounting practices align with commercial agreements and market standards.
• Create and review statements, reconciliations, cash allocations, settlement directives, and necessary documentation.
• Promptly identify and rectify accounting discrepancies.
• Collaborate with Claims Operations on claims reserves, loss movements, payments, and claims bordereaux.
• Coordinate with the Lloyds Technical Operations Manager on market-specific processing, controls, exceptions, and data integrity.
• Uphold accounting controls, maintain evidence, and ensure audit trails are intact.
• Proactively identify risks and escalate significant issues with clear options and recommendations.
• Assist with credit control, collections, cash application, and payment verification.
• Contribute to the automation of accounting processes, bordereaux ingestion, reconciliations, and reporting tools while ensuring effective human oversight.
• Offer technical support to brokers and Client Solutions teams regarding service and accounting needs.
• Ensure that premium, claims, commission, and cash records are accurate, timely, and justifiable.
• Minimize and swiftly address Lloyds-specific accounting and processing discrepancies.
• Over 5 years of technical accounting experience in reinsurance, insurance, Lloyds broking, a managing agent, or a similar specialized environment.
• In-depth understanding of technical accounting processes related to premiums, claims, commissions, brokerage, cash, and settlement.
• Established experience in the Lloyds market, including the operational and accounting implications of market processing standards.
• Strong skills in reconciliation and analysis.
• Meticulous approach to accuracy, documentation, and controls.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel.
• Comfortable using accounting, broking, or workflow management systems.
• Capable of clearly communicating complex accounting concepts to non-finance stakeholders.
• Ability to collaborate effectively across various functions.
• Familiarity with delegated authority, binders, bordereaux-intensive portfolios, or ILS-related frameworks.
• Experience in enhancing or implementing technical accounting workflows, data controls, or automation processes.
• Professional accounting qualification or in-progress pursuit of one (preferred).
