This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Latin America.

📋 Description

• Assume complete responsibility for client accounts from transaction categorization to final financial statements.

• Precisely categorize transactions utilizing available resources prior to escalation to clients.

• Reconcile bank, credit card, loan, and clearing accounts on a monthly basis.

• Manage each client’s month-end closing process and provide timely, accurate outcomes.

• Prepare and uphold GAAP-compliant profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, including accruals and adjusting entries.

• Develop and enhance charts of accounts, classes, locations, and product/service configurations in QuickBooks Online.

• Create effective QuickBooks Online workarounds to produce customized reporting views.

• Reconcile monthly payroll reports from Gusto, ADP, or Paychex to QuickBooks Online, including tips, commissions, and benefits.

• Prepare tax-ready financial records and year-end packages for CPAs.

• Maintain audit trails, internal controls, and necessary documentation.

• Investigate receipts, historical trends, vendor information, and previous communications before reaching out to clients.

• Convert complex accounting inquiries into understandable, plain English.

• Aggregate client inquiries and provide clear context for efficient responses.

• Draft and update standard operating procedures to scale the accounting function.

• Identify manual tasks and collaborate on automated solutions.

• Potentially lead and review the work of team bookkeepers and establish quality standards as the client grows.


⛳️ Requirements

• Active QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor certification with advanced, hands-on expertise.

• Over 3 years of direct accounting experience with U.S.-based businesses.

• Demonstrated experience in preparing U.S. GAAP-compliant financial statements and managing month-end closings.

• Familiarity with reconciling payroll reports from platforms such as Gusto, ADP, or Paychex.

• Proficient in written and spoken English.

• Capability to elucidate financial concepts clearly to non-financial clients.

• Strong attention to detail.

• Robust systems-thinking approach.

• Motivation to automate routine tasks.

• Previous experience in the beauty & wellness, interior design, or brick-and-mortar service industries is preferred.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
