Area Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona.

📋 Description

• Gather and assess financial data to create journal entries and document business transactions.

• Generate monthly and quarterly operational performance reports.

• Aid the Area Controller in upholding internal controls and ensuring compliance with company policies, Sarbanes-Oxley, and statutory mandates.

• Reconcile balance sheet accounts along with statistical data.

• Evaluate financial statements in accordance with GAAP and company guidelines.

• Assist in managing accounting staff and offer guidance to accounting functional areas.

• Support the annual budgeting and interim forecasting processes, including analytical reviews.

• Facilitate the accounting components of capital expenditures, transfers, and asset retirements.

• Aid in internal audits, external audits, and peer assessments.

• Address information requests from corporate departments as well as regional and area field financial management.

• Perform additional job-related responsibilities as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience in accounting.

• Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

• Proficient in MS Excel at an intermediate level.

• Proactive in researching and following up on non-standard situations to ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.

• Strong and professional interpersonal communication skills across various organizational levels and with external customers and vendors.

• Excellent analytical abilities.

• Capacity to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively.

• Capability to complete projects and assignments with minimal oversight.

• Strong organizational skills.

• Familiarity with general ledger software and other industry-standard applications.

• Experience with Oracle accounting software and other industry-standard programs.
