This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Oversee and uphold the general ledger for designated subsidiaries, ensuring precise and prompt documentation of financial transactions.
• Take full ownership of payroll and employee-related accounting processes from start to finish, encompassing payroll actuals and accruals, bonuses, commissions, severance, 401(k), employee benefits, HSA/FSA, and associated reconciliations.
• Evaluate monthly financial statements and variances compared to previous periods/previous months and provide variance explanations to management.
• Prepare work papers and month-end reconciliation for assigned balance sheet and select income statement accounts.
• Detect discrepancies and suggest potential resolutions.
• Collaborate with FP&A, Revenue Operations, Legal, Tax, and other key stakeholders.
• Assist with intercompany transactions, lease, debt, segment accounting, and M&A accounting processes.
• Ensure the effectiveness of internal controls over assigned GL areas and work with internal audit on any identified deficiencies.
• Maintain compliance with SOX and IPE requirements.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and lead initiatives to enhance the month-end close and general ledger processes.
• Report directly to the Accounting Manager.
• A minimum of 3 years of accounting experience in a related field.
• A BS/BA degree in accounting is required.
• Strong comprehension of month-end and year-end closing processes within a public company.
• Proficient understanding of US GAAP standards and internal controls.
• Demonstrated diligence, organization, and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to independently resolve issues and work autonomously.
• High level of accountability for assigned responsibilities.
• Proficient in Excel.
• Capacity to prioritize tasks, thrive under pressure, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
• Experience as a Senior Accountant is preferred.
• Experience in a SaaS GL Accounting role is a plus.
• Big 4 or public accounting experience is advantageous.
• CPA designation or current CPA candidate is a plus.
• Familiarity with NetSuite, OneStream, or other ERP software is desirable.
