This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Oversee and sustain the general ledger for designated subsidiaries.
• Take full responsibility for payroll and employee-related accounting processes from start to finish, including payroll actuals and accruals, bonuses, commissions, severance, 401(k), employee benefits, HSA/FSA, and associated reconciliations.
• Conduct analysis of monthly financial statements and variances compared to previous periods, providing detailed explanations of findings.
• Summarize and present fluctuations explanations to management.
• Prepare work papers and month-end reconciliations for assigned balance sheet accounts and selected income statement accounts.
• Identify discrepancies and propose potential solutions.
• Collaborate with FP&A, Revenue Operations, Legal, Tax, and other relevant stakeholders.
• Assist with intercompany transactions, lease, debt, segment, and M&A accounting.
• Ensure effective internal controls over assigned GL areas and address any deficiencies with internal audit.
• Maintain compliance with SOX and IPE requirements.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and lead initiatives aimed at streamlining month-end close and general ledger processes.
• Report to the Accounting Manager.
• A minimum of 3 years of accounting experience in a related field.
• A BS/BA degree in accounting is required.
• Strong grasp of month-end and year-end closing processes within a public company.
• Working knowledge of US GAAP standards and understanding of internal controls.
• Excellent diligence, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Capable of resolving issues and working independently.
• Strong sense of accountability for assigned tasks.
• Proficient in Excel.
• Ability to prioritize assignments, manage pressure, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience as a Senior Accountant is preferred.
• Background in a SaaS GL Accounting role is desirable.
• Experience with Big 4 or public accounting firms.
• CPA certification or currently a CPA candidate.
• Familiarity with NetSuite, OneStream, or other ERP software.
• Must be eligible to work in Canada without sponsorship.
