Senior Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Execute and assist with daily accounting operations.

• Prepare and record journal entries.

• Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliations of accounts.

• Aid in the closing activities for month-end, quarter-end, and year-end.

• Investigate and resolve discrepancies in accounting, reconciling variances and unusual transactions.

• Maintain documentation and supporting schedules for balance sheet and income statement accounts.

• Generate financial schedules, analyses, financial statements, and reporting packages.

• Analyze financial outcomes and account activities.

• Prepare variance analyses and justifications for review by leadership.

• Implement internal control procedures and assist with SOX compliance and testing.

• Create audit schedules and address requests from internal and external auditors.

• Support accounting systems, ERP processes, reporting tools, system enhancements, automation, and process improvements.

• Assist with the transition of accounting functions from shared service environments and TSA exit activities.

• Collaborate with Finance, Revenue Cycle, Procurement, HR, and IT departments.

• Work closely with the Accounting Manager and the broader Finance team to ensure precise reporting, robust controls, and streamlined processes.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 4 years of experience in accounting.

• In-depth knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), SOX controls, and financial reporting standards.

• Proven experience in preparing journal entries and conducting account reconciliations.

• Familiarity with month-end closing processes.

• Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.

• CPA designation is preferred; CPA candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.

• Proficient in advanced Excel functionalities.

• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
