Senior Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Supervise the entry and assessment of transactions

• Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, material batches, analyses, and accounting initiatives

• Collaborate with Operations, Sales, and Finance departments

• Assist in the monthly closing process and manage month-end tasks

• Research and compute journal entries for rebates, commissions, inventory, and revenue

• Aid in inventory management and job-related responsibilities

• Evaluate inventory obsolescence

• Analyze sales, costs, and profit margins

• Support job closure activities

• Reconcile balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis

• Investigate and rectify account discrepancies

• Adhere to company policies and procedures, including Sarbanes-Oxley internal-control requirements

• Report directly to the Director of Accounting

• Engage in minimal travel by car and/or plane as necessary

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience in Public Accounting

• Familiarity with the requirements of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act

• Knowledge of the COSO internal control framework

• Proficiency with general ledger functions

• Experience with the month-end/year-end closing process

• Ability to concentrate on transaction processing with a keen attention to detail

• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is mandatory

• Proven expertise in accounting and financial analysis

• 2–3 years of accounting experience, particularly in subledger or general ledger accounting

• Advanced proficiency in Excel functions, including SUMIF, lookup functions, and pivot tables

• Capability to work from home

• Reliable high-speed internet access; hotspot not acceptable

• A dedicated, distraction-free home work environment

• Minimum of 40 hours per week during the company’s standard business hours; evening and/or weekend work may be necessary
