Accountant II

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +24 more states.

📋 Description

• Oversee lease accounting schedules in compliance with ASC 842.

• Cultivate a comprehensive understanding of the complete lease accounting process, which includes pertinent stakeholders, systems, accounting procedures, and internal controls that facilitate internal and external reporting.

• Generate weekly, monthly, and quarterly analyses along with the necessary journal entries that support lease accounting.

• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and promptly investigate and resolve any discrepancies.

• Assist with designated internal and external audit functions, ensuring SOX compliance.

• Execute special projects and analyses as directed by departmental management.

• Stay updated on accounting, reporting, and disclosure standards issued by the FASB, SEC, and PCAOB.

• Evaluate and support the effects of modifications to accounting, reporting, and disclosure standards.

• Carry out additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year institution with a focus on Accounting or Financial Accounting.

• At least one year of hands-on general ledger accounting experience, ideally in a public accounting or corporate accounting setting.

• Experience with ASC 842 lease accounting is highly desirable.

• Candidates must reside in one of the following states: Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana, Maryland, Missouri, Mississippi, North Carolina, North Dakota, Nebraska, New Mexico, Nevada, Oregon, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, or Utah.

• Successful completion of background checks, drug screenings, and reference checks is required prior to hiring.
