Junior Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Handle and record customer payments across various companies and bank accounts, including ACH transfers, wire payments, lockbox deposits, and credit card transactions.

• Investigate and resolve unidentified receipts, unapplied cash, payment discrepancies, and posting mistakes.

• Prepare and input journal entries into NetSuite.

• Generate and assist with monthly and ad hoc financial reports utilizing NetSuite.

• Review outstanding customer credits and discrepancies in accounts receivable aging reports.

• Oversee and coordinate the escheatment process, including researching outstanding balances and maintaining records.

• Collaborate with the Collections team to address customer payment issues and account discrepancies.

• Prepare and carry out assigned balance sheet reconciliations.

• Assist in month-end closing activities.

• Maintain precise and organized accounting records and documentation.

• Identify areas for improvement in accounting processes and data accuracy.

• Support daily operations and departmental goals alongside Accounting and Finance teams.

• Perform additional tasks as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.

• 1–2 years of accounting experience, ideally in a corporate setting.

• Prior experience with accounts receivable, cash applications, journal entries, or account reconciliations is advantageous.

• Familiarity with NetSuite is preferred but not mandatory.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with strong Excel skills essential.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a knack for investigating discrepancies and finding solutions.

• Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational capabilities.

• Capacity to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and meet deadlines.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.

• Quick to learn and adapt to new accounting systems, software, and processes.

• Understanding of fundamental accounting principles and financial transactions.

• Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team atmosphere.
