This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +18 more states.
• Manage a targeted portfolio of high-value strategic accounts and drive revenue growth through expansion, cross-department engagement, and disciplined commercial practices.
• Develop multi-faceted relationships with senior stakeholders and C-suite executives to gain insights into business requirements, use cases, and product satisfaction.
• Act as the main client liaison during renewals, proactively resolving issues and leading pricing negotiations.
• Recognize and capitalize on upsell and cross-sell opportunities.
• Create and present renewal proposals, contracts, and executive-level presentations.
• Collaborate with Client Strategy, Sales, Product, BizOps, Legal, and Finance to explore expansion opportunities.
• Utilize CRM software to monitor interactions, forecast renewals and upsells, and keep precise records of accounts and opportunities.
• Stay informed about industry trends, competitive dynamics, and commercial best practices.
• Track customer usage and engagement metrics to identify potential risks and opportunities for intervention.
• Assist in effective pipeline management, accurate forecasting, risk mitigation, and achieving territory success alongside the Director of Account Management.
• Contribute to the establishment of operational standards for Morning Consult’s inaugural team of this nature.
• Travel up to 30% to meet clients, attend industry events, and collaborate with colleagues across various offices.
• A Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Over 7 years of progressive experience in strategic account management, enterprise sales, or contract renewal management.
• Preferably experience at a data, research, or technology company; a DaaS background is strongly preferred over traditional SaaS.
• A proven track record of meeting or surpassing B2B renewal revenue targets, including upsells, expansions, and multi-year agreements.
• Experience in managing and developing relationships with Fortune 500 clients and engaging with C-suite executives.
• An executive presence with polished professional communication skills in writing, video, and in-person interactions.
• A sales-oriented mindset; driven, proactive, and motivated by achieving closure.
• Resourcefulness and adaptability; capable of operating without a complete playbook.
• Strong organizational abilities, territory management skills, attention to detail, and the capacity to manage multiple complex accounts and priorities.
• Familiarity with CRM software; experience with Salesforce CPQ is a bonus.
• A keen intellectual curiosity about current events, client industries, data, and business strategy.
• A willingness to accept feedback and pursue continuous improvement.
• Authorization to work in the United States for any employer.
• Must reside in one of the following states: California, Colorado, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, or Washington.
