This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Oversee and manage a portfolio of strategic and intricate transportation customer accounts.
• Act as a trusted advisor and primary relationship manager for executive, operational, financial, procurement, and leadership stakeholders.
• Identify, pursue, and secure new shipping opportunities within designated accounts and target markets.
• Formulate and implement strategic account growth plans that align with customer supply chain initiatives.
• Collaborate with Operations and other internal teams to ensure service performance and address complex customer challenges.
• Analyze customer spending, shipping trends, transportation network activities, market trends, account performance, revenue, satisfaction metrics, and retention risks.
• Identify opportunities for organic growth, wallet share expansion, network growth, and additional transportation solutions.
• Establish performance metrics and reporting frameworks, lead corrective measures, and promote continuous improvement.
• Organize and lead Quarterly Business Reviews, executive business reviews, and strategic planning meetings.
• Enhance retention, expansion, and profitability through commercial strategy, contract renewals, pricing discussions, and negotiations.
• Collaborate with Sales on growth initiatives, RFP responses, customer expansions, contract negotiations, and win-back efforts.
• Provide mentorship and share best practices with Account Managers and team members as an LTL subject matter expert.
• Keep an eye on industry trends, market conditions, customer requirements, and competitive activities.
• Lead customer onboarding, implementations, solution launches, and major account transitions.
• Manage high-level customer escalations, service issues, and operational challenges.
• Maintain account plans, forecasts, customer activities, growth opportunities, and pipeline visibility in Salesforce and other business systems.
• Execute additional duties as assigned.
• A bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, Transportation, or a related field from an accredited institution is required.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in transportation, logistics, account management, business development, or a related customer-facing role is required.
• Proven success in managing strategic customer relationships.
• Extensive knowledge of transportation, freight operations, transportation networks, pricing strategies, terminal/station environments, and related logistics functions.
• Experience in managing complex customer accounts, leading discussions at the executive level, and developing strategic account growth plans.
• Strong business acumen with the ability to analyze financial, operational, and customer performance data.
• Capability to identify revenue risks, create retention strategies, lead commercial discussions, and drive profitable customer growth.
• Outstanding relationship management, communication, negotiation, presentation, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to influence cross-functional teams and manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
• Discretion and confidentiality in managing sensitive information.
• Proficient with Windows PCs, Microsoft O365, Salesforce, and web conferencing tools such as Teams, Zoom, and Webex.
• Willingness to travel for meetings and events related to the position.
